Light
is the most essential aspect and ingredient of life, it is the very source of
life. In the physical world, light is the chief source of energy and principal
component of human survival; on Earth, the sun is the main source of light. The
light that emanates or proceeds from the sun provides plants with the energy
required to create starch for their survival and initiates the process of
photosynthesis: this process is essential, it practically provides all the
energy required for the sustenance of all living things, more especially human
beings. The physical world is governed by physical laws; in physics, light is
electromagnetic radiation in the form of wavelengths whether visible to the
human eyes or otherwise; visible light carries wavelengths recognized by the
human eyes; it is responsible for the sense of sight.
“God said, Let there be lights in the
firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for
signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in
the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.” Genesis
1:14 – 15 The reasoning of God while creating the lights in
the heavens goes beyond providing energy for the sustenance of life: they are
essential for signs, for seasons, and for telling time. Through the use of the
different lights in the heavens, one can read the climatic conditions, observe
the different energy patterns, and foretell the season: be it the rainy season
or winter time and the planting or harvesting season, the different lights in
the firmaments are of great importance; this lights allow one to tell or deduce
time; through the use of them one can tell whether its day or night time.
In the beginning, God did not create
the light, He simply said “let there be light”, meaning he released
or allowed this light to manifest; this light is the total manifestation and
revelation of God. “God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was
good: and God divided the light from the darkness” Genesis 1: 3 – 4 This light is the very image of God who
dwells and functions in the spirit world; the purpose of the manifestation of
this light was
to expose the darkness that already existed on earth; this light is the totality of God
who reveals the goodness of God. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth; and the earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep; And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters.” Genesis 1: 1 – 2. Initially there was only light and goodness
but the evil desires in the heart of Lucifer bred darkness; once darkness
manifested, He
was cast into
the earth which was then void, formless, and full
of water: the Spirit of Light hovered upon the face of the waters to prevent
this darkness from reaching heaven; therefore, God released the Light which is
his Goodness to expose the darkness that emanates from the devil; He is the
spirit of darkness, the spirit of death.
The
Manifestation of the light of God proceeds from the Kingdom of Light; all the
lights in the different heavens and atmospheres, be it electromagnetic
radiation in the form of sun rays or electric lighting in the form of power
systems, originate from the Spirit of Light. The Kingdom of Light is the spirit
world where God Himself functions and every type of light whether natural or
artificial springs from the spirit world then manifests itself into the
physical through the power of the Holy Spirit. When God allowed the spirit of
light to manifest, the sum-total of all the
different lights in the diverse
constellations, atmospheres, heavens, and worlds were released at once: all this
lights were released into the spirit world where the different spiritual
creatures and angelic beings are partakers; whereas all this lights are in the
spirit, some manifested immediately into the physical such as the sun and the
moon, while others remained in the spirit such as electric lighting which progressively
manifests into the physical as knowledge increases.
At
Phronesis, it is the season of light: during this season, we explore, evaluate,
and elaborate on the different lights that emanate from the Spirit of Light; although
the spirit of light is the total revelation of the father and the very image of
God, it is composed of different lights that merge to form the Light; when the
Father said let there be light, the spirit of light released different lights both
natural and artificial. During this season, Phronesis will explore the
manifestation of light that went forth from the throne of God and examine the
different lights carried by the spirit of light. The season of light is
composed of and broken down into four weeks: throughout the season, we examine
different elements, aspects and characteristics of the Light of God; each week,
Phronesis will shed a spotlight on a specific element of the Light of God; in a
given week, Phronesis will illuminate the hearts of its members with Phronesis
daily devotions that highlight a particular aspect of the Light; the week will culminate
with an article evaluating this given characteristic.
The week of the
Manifestation of Light
{31st
October to 7th November}
In the physical and spiritual worlds, light is
responsible for the sense of sight; consequently, for one to effectively function
in both words, they must come into contact with light which enable their
sensory perceptions to interact with their surroundings. Paul in his letter to
the church at Ephesus eloquently and poetically affirmed “But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for
whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou
that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” Ephesians 5:13-14.
While communicating to his converts at Ephesus, Paul enlightens them on the
totality of light and its place in life; he lays emphasis on the fact that all
things must be reproved and approved by the spirit of light before they can
truly be alive. In the physical world, light is a fundamental component of life, it practically
provides all the energy required for the sustenance of all living things; in the
spirit world, the spirit of light is the manifestation of the wisdom and
knowledge of God; therefore, Christ is the spirit of light he reproves and
approves everything and every being; he is the total manifestation of all the lights,
in all the constellations,
atmospheres, heavens, and worlds which come together to constitute the very Light that
was from the beginning, before the foundation of the world. During the week of
the manifestation of light, Phronesis will enlighten its members on the
manifestation of light: we will begin by elaborating on the process of
manifestation; highlight the different lights that emanate from the throne of
light; and show that Christ is the very light that enlightens every life; He is
the very source of life. The week will have Phronesis daily devotions on light;
it will elaborate on the person that is the spirit of light; and show how He
reveals and manifests Himself into the different lights that exist and function
in the physical and spiritual worlds; the week will culminate with an article
titled the manifestation of light.
The
week of the Lesser Light
{7th
November to 14th of November}
After the fall of the devil and his cohosts, the
spirit of darkness started operating in and emanating from the spirit of
Lucifer; his spirit assumed the spirit of death. Paul while writing to his flock
in Rome eloquently and poetically proclaims “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to
Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's
transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come” Romans 5:14. The fall of man gave Lucifer the power and
authority to reign as the prince of the earth; he become the prince of this
world; on the other hand, with the advent of the laws of Moses, the word of God
become the light; it was the requisite rules and regulations required to govern
the world. The psalmist eloquently and poetically states “The entrance of
thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” Psalms
119:130. The Laws of Moses was the light of God but the lesser light; it
was addressed to the children of Israel and not the whole world; its purpose
was to take away darkness and point people to the greater light; which was the
coming of Jesus Christ. When light comes darkness despites, when God’s word
comes, understanding enlightens one’s heart. The laws took away the spirit of
darkness, but it was not sufficient light to completely eradicate darkness; it
was the lesser light; it was a shadow of good things to come. The book of
Hebrews eloquently and poetically asserts “For the law having a shadow of good
things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with
those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers
thereunto perfect.” Hebrews 10:1. While the set of laws was a light, the shadow of
death still lingered over the world; the spirit of Lucifer is the source of darkness
and as long as His spirit and those of other devils are in this world, darkness
will never be completely eradiated. During
the week of the lesser light, Phronesis will enlighten its members on the significance
and necessity of the lesser light: we will begin by describing and giving the
meaning of the lesser light; highlight its importance and necessity; and show
the lesser light as the source of true knowledge, the source of the knowledge
of good; the spirit of light, who carries the lesser light, is the totality of
God; he reveals the goodness of God. The week will have Phronesis daily devotions on the
lesser light and culminate
with an article titled the lesser of light.
The
week of the Greater Light
{14th
November to 21st November}
The Old Testament is a collection of the laws of
Moses; the historical accounts of the children of Israel; Jewish poetry and
wisdom; and the prophets; it was testifying of good things to come, testifying
of the coming of Jesus Christ; it was a reflection of the greater light, a
reflection of the glorious light of the gospel. Moses while writing the book of
Genesis eloquently
and poetically describes “God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day,
and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.” Genesis
1:16. In the physical world, the sun rules over the day and the moon rules
over the night; the moon gets its reflection from the sun; the sun is the
greater light while the moon is the lesser light. With the advent of the Law of
Moses, light shown on the children of Israel but was not sufficient to
completely open their understanding to the realities, mysteries, and secrets of
the kingdom of light; the lesser light only bore witness of the coming of
Christ; during the dispensation of the lesser light, the spirit of darkness
still lingered over the world and cast a shadow of death over its occupants;
only total enlightenment and manifestation of the glorious gospel of Christ
could get rid of the shadow of death, who is the spirit of death; the spirit
of Lucifer Himself. Prophet Isaiah while
prophesying about the coming of Christ Jesus saw in the spirit and poetically
prophesied “The people that walked in darkness have
seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon
them hath the light shined.” Isaiah 9:2. The man Christ
Jesus was this greater light who came to bring salvation to the whole of
mankind; Mathew while reechoing
the prophesy of Prophet Isaiah eloquently
and poetically narrates “The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to
them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. From that
time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at
hand.” Matthew 4:16-17. The greater light is the light of
the world that lights every creature; he is the light of life who carries the
glorious light of the gospel; the
purpose of the greater light was to totally eradicate darkness.
John while talking about the master eloquently
and poetically declares “Then spake Jesus
again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me
shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12. During the week of the greater light, Phronesis
will enlighten its members on the significance and necessity of the greater
light: we will begin by describing and giving the meaning of the greater light;
highlight its importance and necessity; and show the greater light as the
source of power and wisdom required to completely break the powers of darkness
through salvation; He is the foundation all the spiritual blessings stored in
heavenly places; The week will have Phronesis daily devotions
on the greater light and culminate with an article titled the greater light.
The
week of the Spirit of Light
{22nd
November to 30th November}
The Spirit of light
is the source all the lights that enlighten the different constellations,
atmospheres, heavens, and worlds; He is the source of the light of the Father
that proceeds from the throne of light; the spirit of light is the totality of
all the light; he is the spirit of the father; James the brother of Jesus eloquently and
poetically avers “Every good gift and every perfect gift is
from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no
variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. The father of
lights is the totality of all the lights that exist in the spiritual and
physical worlds; he is the total sum of everything; he is all in all and he is
in all of us. The lesser light pointed to the dawning of the greater light; the
greater light is the total manifestation of Christ; He is the very image of
God; He points or leads human beings to the Father. Nonetheless, the spirit of
light is the total manifestation of the Light that went forth from the throne
of Light before the foundation of the world; He is the sum-total of the greater
light and the lesser light; He is the culmination of the light and word of the
Father when He stated “Let there be Light.” The Spirit of Light carries all the
sum-total of lights that function in the different constellations, atmospheres,
heavens, and worlds; He proceeds from the kingdom of Light which is the Spirit
world but functions both in the spirit and physical worlds; He is responsible
for both natural light such as electromagnetic radiation in the form of sun
rays or artificial light such as electric
lighting in the form of power systems; electric lighting progressively manifests into
the physical as knowledge increases. Paul while eloquently and poetically
writing to the church at Ephesus avows “That the God of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and
revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being
enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the
riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints” Ephesians 1:17-18. While Natural light
comes naturally from the spirit of light, artificial light such electric lighting
progressively manifests into the physical as knowledge increases; therefore the
spirit of light is infused or embedded with the spirit of wisdom which
enlightens the understanding of individuals and empowers their minds to open up
and have an understanding of the different lights in the diverse
constellations, atmospheres, heavens, and worlds especially electric lighting. The season of light
carries the spirit of light which is the spirit of the gospel; it carries the
glorious light of the gospel; during the week of the spirit of light, Phronesis will
enlighten its members on the different lights in the diverse
constellations, atmospheres, heavens, and worlds: we will begin by describing
the person that is the spirit of light; highlight His importance and necessity;
and enlighten people on the process of manifestation of the spirit of light
into the different lights in the diverse
constellations, atmospheres, heavens, and worlds; the week will have Phronesis daily devotions on
the spirit of light and culminate with an article titled the spirit of light.
